PSS provides vacuum filling for power, substation and GSU transformers as part of installation, rebuild and field service projects. Proper vacuum processing helps remove moisture and air voids from transformer windings before dielectric fluid is introduced.
High-Capacity Vacuum Processing
PSS uses a 3,000-cfm vacuum pump to maximize removal of moisture and trapped air. During oil filling, dielectric fluid is circulated through PSS processing rigs where it is heated, dehydrated and degassed before entering the transformer.
Continuous Oil Monitoring
PSS continuously analyzes and monitors transformer oil during the filling process. This provides an additional quality-control step during a critical phase of transformer installation or service.
